HAIC hosts 16th national college e-commerce challenge provincial selection

On June 6, 2026, the 16th National College E-commerce "Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship" Challenge (known as the "Three Innovations Challenge") Hainan Provincial Selection was successfully held. The event saw participation from 14 universities across the province, with 122 outstanding teams and nearly 600 students competing.

The opening ceremony was attended by notable leaders, including Gao Diangong, a member of the Party committee and vice president of Hainan University. He emphasized the importance of innovation as a driving force for development, highlighting the critical role of youth in this endeavor. Gao reiterated Hainan University's commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students, aligning with the central directive of creating world-class disciplines at the university.

Zhu Hongxiu, director of the Market Performance Center at Changying Hainan Cultural Industry Group, also addressed the participants. She praised the students' projects for aligning with digital economy trends and expressed eagerness for further collaboration between industries and academia. The company offered participants complimentary access to the "Global 100" Fantasy Park, enhancing the practical experience of the students.

Pan Yong, a representative from the national organizing committee, outlined the competition's scale, with over 28,900 teams from 1,500 schools nationwide. He highlighted the competition's role in enhancing students' innovative capabilities and practical skills.

The event featured a diverse array of projects, covering all competition tracks. Wang Changhua, vice dean of the School of Business Administration at Haikou University of Economics, praised the participants' efforts and provided constructive feedback.

The competition concluded with various awards, including grand prizes and special recognitions for innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. The event provided an essential platform for students to showcase their talents and gain valuable entrepreneurial experience, contributing significantly to the development of high-quality e-commerce talent for the Hainan Free Trade Port.
