Recently, the Rural Child Growth Accompaniment Team from HNU-ASU International College, Hainan University (HAIC) embarked on a heartwarming educational journey to Xinmin Primary School in Qiongshan district, Haikou. Located about a 30-minute drive from Hainan University's Guanlan Lake Campus, Xinmin Primary School welcomed the HAIC team, who arrived brimming with enthusiasm. After meticulous planning and coordination, the team and the school crafted a two-phase growth accompaniment plan to enrich the students' educational experience.

On April 28, the first phase commenced, featuring four international HAIC teachers—Bruno Ferreira, Adriana Szabo, Yaerin Park, and David Chon—who introduced the fourth-grade students to the vibrant cultures of Portugal, Romania, and South Korea. Through engaging stories and interactive sessions, the children learned about global icons like Cristiano Ronaldo and BLACKPINK, igniting their curiosity and participation.

The lively classroom atmosphere was filled with attentive students, eager to learn about the world beyond their school. Discussions extended to the future of Hainan's Free Trade Port and the students' potential roles as future leaders, inspiring a sense of pride and ambition among the children.

The highlight of the day was the announcement of the second phase: an invitation for Xinmin's students to visit HAIC's campus for a "University Experience Day." This immersive event will allow the children to explore university life, interact with international students, and attend lectures, fostering a deeper appreciation for education and global cultures.

Yaerin Park, reflecting on the visit, expressed her joy at the students' enthusiasm and looks forward to their upcoming campus visit. Xinmin's principal, Fu Chuanxiong, praised the collaboration, noting its profound impact on both the rural students and university volunteers.

This initiative not only enriches rural education but also strengthens community ties, nurturing a generation of globally-minded, responsible young citizens.
