The HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College at Hainan University (HAITC) offers a cake baking class, which enables students to learn baking techniques and provides them with a hands-on experience to create a variety of delicious cakes.

The class is conducted in a bakery facility in collaboration with the college, where students can form groups based on the published schedule, select their preferred desserts and attend classes at the designated times.

In the clean and tidy baking classroom, students gather around the workstations, attentively listening to the instructor’s explanations. The instructor  starts by detailing the ingredients, recipes, baking temperatures and various other aspects of cake making, guiding the students through every step of the process. Students then stir the paste, whip the cream and decorate the cakes. 

As the cakes are taken out of the oven, each student displays a satisfied smile. They taste their own creations, savoring the sweet bliss of the moment. Many take their cakes back to school to share them with roommates and friends, spreading the joy to others. 

One student shared, “The baking class is so fun! When I post photos on my social media, many friends from other schools are really envious. I am so grateful to the college for offering us such an interesting and valuable learning experience.”

“I’ve always loved sweets, but never had the chance to make them myself. Now, I’ve made delicious desserts with my classmates, and I’m really excited. I definitely want to try baking again in the future,” the student added.
