HAITC hosts lecture on national funded project applications

The HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College of Hainan University (HAITC) organized a lecture on national funded project applications on Dec 6, which was delivered by Wang Kanliang from the Renmin Business School at Renmin University of China. 

In his lecture centered around "Crafting High-quality Proposals for Funded Scientific Research Projects", Wang provided valuable insights into selecting research topics, exploring their innovation and practical significance, employing suitable research methods, and writing high-quality project proposals. Additionally, he delved into the application processes and evaluation criteria of the National Natural Science Funds. 

An interactive Q&A session was held both on and offline, allowing faculty members and students to participate and seek further clarification. 

This lecture broadened the research perspectives of HAITCers, inspiring academic endeavors within the college and fostering a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in preparing project proposals, said participants.

Wang holds a doctoral degree in management and a master's and a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and has been supported by the Ministry of Education (MOE)’s Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University. His research expertise encompasses management information systems and e-commerce, the adoption of emerging information technologies and decision-making behaviors.

He has led multiple research projects, including key, general and youth projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. His research findings have been published in such renowned journals as MS, MISQ, DSS, I&M, CACM, Marketing Letters, Journal of Management Sciences in China, Journal of Management Science, Systems Engineering – Theory & Practice and Nankai Business Review

In addition to his academic contributions, Wang serves as a member of the MOE's Professional Teaching Guidance Committee for E-commerce in Higher Educational Institutions and holds the position of director of the Systems Engineering Society of China. He is also vice-chairman of its Information Systems Engineering Technical Committee and executive director of the China Information Economics Society. He has been recognized with a third-class award for technological progress by the MOE.
