HAITCers attend Tourism Tribune China Tourism Research Annual Conference
The Tourism Tribune China Tourism Research Annual Conference 2023, co-hosted by Anhui Normal University and Beijing Union University, opened in Wuhu, Anhui province, on Oct 21.
Themed "Construction of an Independent Knowledge System and Chinese-style Modernization", it brought together renowned scholars and professionals from the tourism industry.
Representatives from the HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College of Hainan University (HAITC), including Vice-dean Li Ping, Xu Yuhua and Pan Yingying, teachers of the college, and Liu Mengxuan, an undergraduate student, were invited to participate in the event.

At the 11th sub-forum themed “Critical Tourism Reflections: Practice and Theory”, Liu Mengxuan delivered a presentation titled “Enhancing Employee Well-being: Exploring the Impact of Wellness Tourism on Job Burnout”.
Her research, utilizing the Health Belief Model, explored the role of wellness tourism in alleviating job burnout among employees and its positive impact on life satisfaction. This study was funded by the Hainan Provincial Natural Science Foundation Project [722RC645].

This year’s conference aimed to advance China’s tourism research, establish an independent knowledge system in tourism studies and contribute to the development of a Chinese-style disciplinary, academic and discourse system.
It also served as a platform for HAITC delegates to share their research findings, learn from others and connect with professionals in the field.
