World Tourism Day, which falls on Sept 27 every year, is a festival for tourism workers and travelers. Each year, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) selects a special theme to reflect what is happening in the tourism industry. This year’s theme was "Invest in People, Planet and Prosperity".

To celebrate World Tourism Day, our college held a series of activities from Sept 24 to 26, including the Dean's Message, the Student's Message, and a Treasure Hunt. The aim was to promote sustainable tourism and to enhance the understanding and growth of environmental and sustainable knowledge in tourism practices.

A traditional event during HAITC's World Tourism Day celebrations, this year's student message comes from Haiying Mai, a junior PRM major.

In addition, in response to the theme of the UNWTO, "Invest in Talents, Invest in the Earth, Invest in Prosperity," the college will hold a series of colorful activities for all students. These events will not only enrich their knowledge and skills, but also deepen their understanding of the industry. We sincerely invite every student to join us!

1. Mission Hills Centreville Scavenger Hunt: The academy will hold a treasure hunt at the beautiful Mission Hills Centreville, where participants will explore the attractions in an interesting and interactive way and learn about the methods of sustainable tourism.

2. Awards Ceremony: After the Scavenger Hunt, the academy will hold an award ceremony. At that time, awards will be presented to recognize contestants and winners who have made outstanding contributions in the themed activities. We welcome everyone to come and witness the students' efforts and wonderful performances.

3. Film screening: Once the awards are presented, a thought-provoking film, "The Last Tourist", will be shown, followed by a discussion activity. At that time, students and teachers can participate and share their views and ideas on the topics of the film. We hope this event can promote the exchange of ideas and enhance the interaction and understanding between all parties.

Explore the unknown and see your inner emotions change as you travel! On World Tourism Day 2023, let's invest in people, our planet and prosperity! Together, we can broaden our horizons, relax, make new friends, and experience different cultures and cuisine through responsible tourism. Let's connect the world with tourism and create wonderful memories and valuable experiences through the HAITC platform.
