Expert on fund projects gives lecture at HAITC
A special lecture themed on Topic, Content and Form of the Application for the National Social Science Fund was given online at the HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College of Hainan University (HAITC) on Feb 17.
Wei Min, professor at Xiamen University, was invited to deliver a keynote speech to postgraduate students from HAITC and teachers from Hainan University. He is also the chief expert at the National Social Science Fund Projects and vice-president of Fujian Tourism Association.
In the speech, Wei elaborated on how to choose topics when applying for the National Social Science Fund and attached importance to the orientation of topic selection to urgent problems in the social science field. He also explained other main points in the process of applying for the fund such as optimizing the content design and form of the application, integrating the content and form as well as evaluating the feasibility of projects and expected results.
Wei also answered questions on various issues raised, such as the difference of subjects between China’s eastern and western regions, the frame and logic of basic research into different branches, the theoretical depth of natural science and social science.
Teachers and students said they benefited a lot from the lecture. They said the event is more of a great impetus to further scientific research than just an ordinary lecture.
