Representatives from the Federation of Industry and Commerce (FIC) of Hainan Province, Hainan University (HNU) and the HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College at Hainan University (HAITC) visited the Bank of Hainan, Hainan Hualon Pharmaceutical Co Ltd and Shiny-Day Group on May 10 to establish school-enterprise cooperation and expand high-quality employment.

Long Dingmin, vice-chairman of Hainan FIC, said she highly appreciated the key role of local enterprises in stabilizing employment.

Boosting enterprises’ development and improving graduates’ employment are important factors in promoting the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP), according to Long.

Long said she hopes enterprises and universities could work with Hainan FIC in talent training, business support, employment and entrepreneurship to better construct the FTP.

Ye Guangliang, member of the standing committee of the CPC HNU committee and vice-president of the university, explained HNU’s discipline development and commended enterprises for recruiting qualified HNU students.

Cultivating talents for the FTP is an important goal of HNU, Ye said. The university will tighten bonds with enterprises, deliver qualified graduates, expand cooperation and achieve mutual benefit.

Zhu Delei, Party secretary of the CPC Bank of Hainan committee and president of the bank, said the bank will support HNU’s double first-class construction and serve the university in financial services, infrastructure, school-enterprise cooperation, talent training and employment.

Chen Yizhi, chairman and president of Hainan Hualon Pharmaceutical, explained the company's industrial progress, product research and development in Hainan, and elaborated on its talent absorption and employee training since the establishment of the FTP.

He said Hualon Pharmaceutical looks forward to strengthening ties with local universities and contributing to the cultivation of well-rounded talents.

Xing Yichuan, Party secretary of the CPC Shiny-Day committee and president of the group, briefed the delegation on the group’s achievements in facilitating the FTP and contributions made by HNU graduates. 

Shiny-Day will provide more employment opportunities in education, science and technology, retail and other sectors to attract all-around talents for the FTP, according to Xing.
