HAITC celebrates fifth anniversary

The HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College of Hainan University (HAITC) held Open Day activities on May 4 to celebrate its fifth anniversary, tightening bonds among alumni, students, parents and the general public.

The events were broadcast live on multiple platforms, attracting more than 10,000 viewers.

Dean Wang Lin gave a general introduction to the history, international cooperation and education mode of HAITC and the construction of the Mission Hills campus.

She also spoke about HAITC’s campus building, postgraduate recommendations, enrollment qualifications, English teaching and professional learning during the Q & A session.

He Yingmin, Party secretary of the CPC HAITC committee, and Zhang Xianfeng and Li Meizhen, vice-deans of the college, explained the Party construction situation and HAITC’s well-rounded education, campus activities, professional teaching, scientific research and postgraduate training via video link.

Hainan's first Sino-foreign cooperative institution, the school was approved for construction on May 4, 2017. Over the past five years, several State and provincial leaders expressed their recognition of the HAITC’s efforts and achievements. It has also built cooperative relationships with luxury hotel brands including Sanya Edition Hotel and Atlantis Sanya, the Hainan Provincial Bureau of Economic Development, the China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute and APCE design.

HAITC cultivated almost 300 students as its first generation of graduates in 2021. Some of them have furthered their studies at top universities in China and abroad, and others have been employed by world-famous corporations.
