HAITC students win English speaking, writing, reading contests

The Administrative Office at the Education Department of Hainan Province issued a notice on April 18, announcing the results of the 22nd provincial college students' English speech contest and the Hainan semi-finals in the 2021 FLTRP·ETIC Cup English speaking, writing and reading contests.

Students from the HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College, Hainan University (HAITC) won in the three competitions.

Ouyang Zhiwei from the 2020 class of park and recreation management and Qian Siyu from the 2020 class of public service and public policy won grand prize and first prize in the speaking contest, respectively; Li Xinfei from the 2020 class of public service and public policy claimed first prize in the reading contest; and Zhang Qianying from the 2019 class of public service and public policy and Chen Kejiang from the 2018 class of tourism development and management obtained third prize in the writing competition.

The Hainan semi-finals of the contests were held at Hainan Tropical Ocean University in Sanya from Oct 22 to 23, 2021.

The competitions improved their speaking, writing and reading abilities and further stimulated HAITC students' interests in English learning.

The results of the contests also confirmed HAITC’s achievements in innovative English teaching by combining both the Chinese and foreign education styles.
