Guo Chi, member of the Organization Department of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, led an investigation group to visit Hainan University (HNU) and the HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College (HAITC) on April 8 and attended a symposium on Party construction under the university's Sino-foreign cooperative education background.

Han Shumei, member of the standing committee of the HNU Party committee and director of its organization department, accompanied the investigation tour. Heads of HAITC and representatives of Party members at the college and the International Cooperation and Exchange Department attended the symposium.

Guo spoke highly of HNU's achievements on Party construction in Sino-foreign cooperative education. He pointed out that HNU's Sino-foreign cooperative education has a solid foundation and scientific system, and enjoys fruitful results and distinctive features. It has always adhered to Chinese characteristics and an international perspective, and has carried out cooperation and exchanges of mutual trust with the foreign side with a confident attitude.

He emphasized that talent cultivation in Hainan is a systematic project, and the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) puts forward a higher demand for talents with international vision and communication skills.

Guo stressed that HNU should closely integrate Party construction with talent cultivation, find inspiration in existing problems, build a talent cultivation platform, and satisfy the demand for high-quality talents in the construction of the Hainan FTP.

Han introduced the basic situation of the Party construction of HNU's Sino-foreign cooperative education. She said that the school's Party committee ensures that the Party's guidelines and policies are implemented, and guides HAITC and other institutions to do a good job in Party construction through joint commissions. It also promotes standardized school management.

She emphasized that the university should strengthen ideological education and further guide outstanding teachers and students to move closer to the Party organization. She also hoped that the Organization Department of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee will increase its guidance and support to HNU, and relieve the problems in residency permits, life security, and scientific research project applications experienced by teachers and students from home and abroad.
