HAITC Dean visits students on their internships
As the Spring Festival of 2021 approaches, Wang Lin, Dean of the HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College, Hainan University (HAITC), and Zhao Yue, Director of the Career Development Center (CDC), made a special trip to Lingshui, Sanya and other places to visit HAITC students who are on their internships.
Wang and Zhao arrived at the Capella Hotel in Sanya on February 6 where three HAITC 2017 undergraduates worked as interns. The three students led the visitors’ tour, introducing Capella’s brand culture and related products to the teachers. They also shared their experiences and achievements during the internships.
Wang showed interest in and concern about the students’ work and life, the progress of their graduation theses, and their future career development plans, and extendedNew Year blessings on behalf of all faulty members of the college.
The two teachers had a cordial meeting with Edward, the general manager of Sanya Edition Hotel, and Ailsa, its human resources director, on February 7.
Wang introduced HAITC’s educational philosophy, which is centered on student growth, and the core goal of cultivating talents who are familiar with international rules, have cross-cultural communication capabilities, and international competitiveness.
Edward, the first Chinese general manager of Edition China, also explained the operation of the Edition Hotel and his theoretical thinking based on his own experience about how to make the hotel adhere to standards and individualization.
Both parties reached a high degree of consensus on further deepening cooperation.
The teachers had in-depth exchanges with the intern students at the hotel and spoke highly of the three 2018 undergraduates who signed up independently for a short-term internships in the hotel during the winter vacation.
Then the teachers visited the students working at the Atlantis Hotel and the Haitang Bay Duty Free Shop of China Duty Free Group.
Wang and Zhao were made proud, gratified and emotional by the progress the students have made during the internship and hoped they and other students will cherish the time, focus on the present and go forward bravely.
